Livigno Tourism is offering free ski passes for all visitors staying at least four nights between now and Christmas Day.

Livigno (1816m) has enjoyed a great start to the season; pistes are in excellent condition with 29 out of 32 lifts open. The resort is reporting 133cm of snow on the upper slopes and 65cm on the lower slopes. It last snowed Dec. 8 (10cm) and more is forecast this week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday.

The Livigno free ski pass is valid for skiers and snowboarders staying at least four nights in a hotel or seven nights in an apartment between now and Christmas Day, then again at the end of the season April 17 to May 2, 2010.

Livigno is made up of three villages (San Antonio, Santa Maria, and San Rocco) and offers access to 115 kilometres of well-groomed slopes linked by modern mountain railways. Skiers can reach a maximum altitude of 2800 metres and try out tricks on one of the biggest snowparks in Europe. Livigno is also one of the cheapest resorts in the Alps and offers duty-free shopping.
