Owners Aim To Sell Yellowstone Club
Owners Tim and Edra Blixseth are currently negotiating with Crossharbor Capital, a Boston-based real estate and private equity firm over the sale of the Yellowstone Club. The sale is due in part to the divorce of the Blixseths. The controversial private ski and golf club, which launched in 2000, should sell for a price some place between $400-600 million.
The Yellowstone Club sits on 13,600 acres adjacent to Big Sky Resort. Members may join by invitation only. Early members were required to have proof of $3 million in assets. Vacant lots at the resort start at $1 million and homes at $10 million. Five of the resort's eight lifts are bubbled to protect riders from the elements.
