The hotel is predominately fashioned out of larch wood, with an intriguing mix of modern and traditional elements. The rooms are traditional stuben (wood panelled living room) with modern design touches throughout, such as glass-walled bathrooms offering views of the mountains from the bathtubs. Every last detail has been thought of, down to the exact positioning of the beds, so the mountains are the first thing you see when you wake up. Free shuttle buses serve the small ski resorts of Speikboden and Klausberg – perfect for beginners and families - as well as the bigger ski area Plan de Corones/Kronplatz, the resort of choice for the more ambitious skier, which is 20 minutes from the hotel. You can indulge in traditional spa treatments, such as hay or apple baths, in the hotel's spa if you fancy a break from skiing. You can swing by the golf course in nearby Riva di Tures/ Rein in Taufers for the South Tyrol Winter Golf Challenge, if you're there Feb. 23-24. Go to for more information.
