Area operatorsTim and Diane Mueller have shown a long commitment to being good neighbors to people living around [R287R, Mount Sunapee] in New Hampshire, [R120R, Crested Butte] in Colorado, and around [R304R, Okemo Mountain Resort] in Ludlow, Vt.

The sale to CNL Lifestyle Properties Inc. of Okemo and Crested Butte, and the lease to operate Sunapee, has not changed that commitment.

Skiers and snowboarders who donate five non-perishable food items at Mount Sunapee's ticket window on Dec. 6 can buy a ski lift ticket for $30.

Skiers and snowboarders who donate at least three non-perishable food items at the Clock Tower at Okemo on Dec. 13 can buy a ski lift ticket for $25.

Proceeds for Cares & Shares are used to benefit local families and food shelters. Both resorts have collected tons of food at past Cares & Shares days.

Bonnie MacPherson of Okemo said the aim of her resort's Cares & Shares Day is to make sure every family in the Okemo Valley has enough to eat this holiday season.

Sunapee's Bruce McCloy said, "It's a great way to get our guests, season pass holders, and the staff into the giving holiday spirit. Not only do ticket purchasers donate food, but our season pass holders and staff bring in food as well."
