Time to cruise the booths at the annual Vancouver Snow Show to catch up on what's happening at your favorite resorts and make winter plans. The snow show, which takes place Oct. 28-29, offers a chance to buy gear, grab a beer and listen to music while checking out resorts from across Western Canada—all in one place.

Vancouver's Snow Show made some changes this year. The show is shorter, taking place for two days, Oct. 28-29. It added live music, showcasing the winners of the SnowSeekers FreshTrax band competition.

The price of admission has been reduced to $5 for everyone. Kids can still get in free.

The show also transferred to a new location that allows easier access and cheaper parking. It now takes place at Vancouver's Pacific National Exhibition Forum at 2901 East Hastings St.

This year, the Vancouver Snow Show features beer gardens, a free pancake breakfast on Saturday and the Canadian Ski Patrol Winter Extreme Ski and Board Swap. More than $1.5 million worth of new and used equipment will be on sale. New gear can be discounted by up to 80 percent.

Stop by the booths of exhibitors to pick up new trail maps and swag. Among the exhibitors are ski resorts from B.C. and Alberta, including [R127R, Cypress Mountain], [R229R, Marmot Basin], [R284R, Mount Seymour], [R336R, Red Mountain], [R493R, Whistler Blackcomb] and [R449R, Whitewater Ski Resort], among others.
