Midwest Ski Areas Garner NSSA Awards
Minnesota's Welch Village received the Best Small Resort Safety Program award for the second time. Welch also won a second straight Customer Service Award as well. Other Midwest ski areas recognized were: Buck Hill, for energy conservation through the use of a renewable wind energy program; and Andes Tower Hills, for innovative programs that increased customer participation, particularly among area youths. Both are also located in the Gopher State. Snow Trails, located in Ohio, was also singled out for programs that significantly increased return visits among area residents. Welch was also recognized in the category as well.
