Laax is home to the Burton European Open in January, billed by the resort as "the biggest snowboard event in Europe." It is certainly one of the several main contenders for that title. Points and prize money will go to the slopestyle and halfpipe disciplines with the world's best boarders expected to compete.
The action switches to skiing with the Orange European Freeski Open in February. The world's best freeskiers are expected in Laax to compete in multiple disciplines. Both events will be accompanied by a full party schedule for visiting fans.
