The highest peaks of the San Juans typically get winter going for the southern Rockies—and the slopes and chutes of [R511R, Wolf Creek Ski Area] usually lead the charge.

Marking the beginning of its 73rd season, Wolf Creek is running a 20 percent off sale for season passes from Oct. 1 through Oct. 9. The passes can be purchased online, over the phone, through the mail or at the area’s ticket office on U.S. 160 between South Fork and Pagosa Springs, Colo. The ticket office will be open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

An adult pass that normally goes for $718 will cost $574 during the sale. Students pay $442, as opposed to the regular $555, and both children (six-12) and seniors (65-plus) can ski all season for $246—with the price going up to $308 after the deadline.

The 20 percent discounts also cut the price for Wolf Creek’s family pass. The cost of an individual pass goes down as the number of family members goes up, so the more the merrier.

Purchase your pass online here. The phone number is (970)-264-5639, and the mailing address is Wolf Creek Ski Area, P.O. Box 2800, Pagosa Springs, CO 81147. All season pass holders must download and sign a season pass contract, and bring it to the ticket office in order to receive your pass.

The ticket office also accepts season pass photos of the holder via email.
