The snow is holding up well at [R1343R, Canada Olympic Park]. So much so that WinSport Canada decided to add one more weekend on to the winter ski and snowboard season before prepping for summer.
Canada Olympic Park, which usually closes at the end of March, has extended their season. The ski hill plans to open again Apr. 4-5 for skiing and snowboarding.
Season passes are on sale until Apr. 30. The 2009-10 winter season passes cost 33 percent less throughout April. Current season passholders who purchase next year's pass before the end of April will be eligible to win their pass.
Canada Olympic Park runs its summer recreation operations from mid-May through September. Activities include mountain biking, a ropes challenge course, and the Skyline at the Park. The Skyline sails from the top of the ski jump tower at speeds of 120-140 kilometers per hour. COP also runs kids' adventure camps and mountain biking camps for kids, teens, and women.
Those planning to attend the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games may want to visit COP's Olympic Hall of Fame and Museum to psych up for the event. The museum, which is open daily, boasts the largest collection of Olympic memorabilia in Canada, including over twenty Olympic torches. One even hails from the 1936 Berlin Games.
Days and hours of operation for different activities vary throughout the summer season. Check rates and schedules online.
