Extreme weather conditions best describe the scenario in California right now. Heavy weekend snow and blizzard conditions will persist through the early part of this week as ski resorts from Lake Tahoe to Mammoth struggle to keep pace with the new snow. Many resorts in the Tahoe region are already looking at more than 40 inches, with a handful of resorts reporting three-day totals above 60 inches.
June Mountain's snow report from February, 4: "If you haven't already heard, the biggest storm of the season is upon us and it is delivering. We couldn't even calculate yesterday's complete storm totals at the top of June. As of Monday morning, we have a storm total of over 9 feet at the Chair 2 weather plot and more is hitting us today. Be safe out there."
