Austrian glacier resort [R565R, Sölden] has a special promotion ‘Be free on the big 3' running from 18 April to 3 May. The period covers both the Hannibal stage show 24 April and its Spring Glacier Festival in the week to 3 May.

The spectacular Hannibal show is held on the 3000m high Rettenbach glacier as the once year-round ski depicts the historical facts of the Second Punic War and its protagonist Hannibal, who is described in a biographical way with all modern theatre settings on the amazing open-air stage.

The show depicts the historical crossing of the Alps of the Carthaginian army on their way to Rome in a modern setting. Snow-grooming machines act as elephants. Skiers, climbers, and parachutists are modern warriors.

Riders cross the glacier fields on their skidoos while flight acrobats try to hinder them. The spectacle features varied light effects, music, video, and pyrotechnical shows with 500 actors and assistants who try to exceed the successful performances of recent years.

A selection of bed and breakfast or half-board accommodation is available for three, four or seven night durations. Each package includes a ski pass valid for one less day that nights booked (i.e., a seven-night stay includes a six-day lift pass) as well as daily entrance to the adventure swimming pool "Freizeit Arena" Sölden and an evening admission ticket for the Aqua Dome thermal hot springs in Längenfeld.

Three nights with bed and breakfast costs from 192 Euros on bed and breakfast or seven nights on half-board costs up to 726 Euros in a four-star hotel (572 Euros in a simple pension).
