The skiing community mourns the loss of filmmaker and storyteller, Warren Miller, who died January 24, 2018, at his home on Orcas Island in Puget Sound at the age of 93. His older films made us nostalgic for a simpler time in skiing in all their tongue-in-cheek, tight-kneed, looooong skinny ski, classic crash glory. The newer flicks carry on the legacy of spreading stoke for the season to come.

Miller even authored a few spirited stories for OnTheSnow detailing the history of the chairlift, tips for getting in ski shape, the perils of owning early ski gear and recovering from a skiing accident

Warren Miler will forever be associated with and loved for sharing a contagious passion for the freedom, fun, adventure and camaraderie that surrounds the sport of skiing. May he rest in peace while his inspiration lives on. Here are some of our favorite remembrances of the iconic ski industry pioneer.
