Heavy snow has returned to the Tetons, and the skiers and boarders of the Jackson Hole area are loving it. Once again, when it snows here, it dumps big. And just to be clear, we’re not talking inches, we’re talking almost 3 feet of fresh snow over just one weekend with more on the way! Topping over 207” of snowfall so far this season, December is shaping up to be a season of plenty in Jackson Hole.

The latest storm has spread big snow across much of Montana, Wyoming and Idaho, but the biggest accumulation winners will be Grand Targhee and Jackson Hole Mountain Resort this round, with Snow King getting plenty popping off as well. Snow continued to fall most of Friday with the skies opening up to bluebird powder days for the weekend. Lots of open terrain with ropes dropping all over and Big Red has officially opened its doors.

Winter has truly come to the Tetons. A beautiful combination of Arctic air and buckets of precipitation at elevation spells out plenty of white fluffy stuff on the horizon too. And with round two of the storm hitting again this week, we should see more layers of deep fresh pow dropping soon. Get ready to thank Santa for a Deepcember!

Whether you ski, board, spa, shop, après or just enjoy watching the snow fall, Jackson Hole is the best place to be this time of year. Don’t wait, book your getaway and lift tickets now.
