Complementing their Summer Games, the XTERRA Winter World event showcases a first-of-its-kind, multi-sport race combining cross-country skiing, mountain biking, running and snowshoeing. Distances will be approximately 5K for the run, bike will be 10K with a few "features" included. The ski event will be about 8K and includes two climbs during the lap. The snowshoe will be 5K and designed to be in deep snow so snowshoes will be mandatory. Other featured events that weekend include the 2008 U.S. National Snowshoe Championship, expected to attract several hundred runners. It's the last stop in the 20+ race series. There will be a citizens 5k, kid's kilo, and a 4 x 2.5k team relay race available to all-comers. If you ride, the XTERRA Snowboard Scramble (Dash for Cash) will have a LeMans-style start at the top of Snowbasin. Following an initial short climb up the mountain with their board, racers strap-in and race to a spot a quarter of the way down the slopes for the next short ridge climb. Riders will have three checkpoints they'll have to climb to then strap-in and race back down. The first racer to cross the finish line at the bottom of the hill is rewarded with cold hard cash. Party down each night in Ogden, with nightly video highlights along with food, music, and the opportunity to get together with other athletes. Visit for more information.
