A mostly greybird day with snow toggling between crusty groomer and mashed-potatoey crud didn't keep our testers from lapping up the frontside on skis with waist widths ranging from 70–86 mm. To the contrary, it actually provided some very interesting variable conditions as the weather warmed and cooled—allowing testers to put their frontside boards through the ringer on each run.
Teasing us with a flake or two here and there, testers had fun carving corduroy cruisers 'till their hearts content or legs gave out... whichever came first. With an impressive day-one record-setting 24 pairs of skis tested, KC Gaudet threw down the gauntlet early, never to be outdone in the days to come... even by himself.
In addition to frontside skis, some testers doubled up on categories, also taking our new all-mountain front fleet for a spin. These skis' waist widths are on the narrower side of the all-mountain range, generally measuring in at around 88 mm under foot.
