Darcy Conover is not your average ski bum. Like many aspiring skiers, Darcy worked in the restaurant business after moving to a resort town - skiing during the day and waiting tables at night, eventually climbing her way up the ladder to become the general manager at Brexi Brasserie, a certified Level 1 Sommelier... not to mention a pro skier based in Aspen/Snowmass.

The Smith Optics and Marmot-sponsored athlete has skied in all kinds of conditions and terrain to get the shot. More recently, Darcy has also been picked up by KÄSTLE, lured to the Austrian-based performance ski company by Chris Davenport, part-owner of the company and a fellow Aspen/Snowmass skier.

As if all that weren't enough, Darcy and her husband Adam Moszynski (also a pro skier) are calling upon their extensive ski experience to start their own business, a base layer company called BARE, which stands for Be A Rad Earthling. Darcy and Adam want BARE Layers to spread the mountain lifestyle and give back to people in developing mountain cultures. Their inaugural collection will be for sale next Fall.

Besides plenty of time skiing inside the ropes of resorts, Darcy's main focus is backcountry touring - earning her turns in the wild snow of the Elk Range. She has completed the Elk Mountain Grand Traverse - an annual springtime overnight race through the high country connecting Aspen to Crested Butte. You can even learn backcountry techniques from her at the Aspen Expeditions Redstone Winter Festival ski mountaineering clinic this February 14-16.

Bottom line, this chick can rip.
