It was a tough season for photographers last year. Limited powder across most of North America meant they either had to travel to find snow, or be perfect the second it arrived. Sometimes galleries didn't turn out, but more times than not our photographers found a way to come through. Which is why picking this year's top ten photos was so difficult. I could easily select ten banner powder shots, but that's only part of the skiing experience. Instead I wanted to capture the whole spectrum from last turns on an idyllic farm, to an excited fan having himself branded at the X Games. The selects might take a while to make sense, but give them some time and the pictures will start revealing more than just what's on the surface-- which is exactly in my opinion what a good photograph should do.
