The final two areas that are still operational, but due to close this weekend on Sunday, 11th May, are Chamonix and Tignes.
Chamonix currently has six metres (20 feet) of snow at the top and five runs open. The last snowfall a week ago on 30th April brought 11cm (four inches) of fresh snow.
Tignes has three metres (ten feet) of snow at the summit with ten runs open. It received 4cm (two inches) of snow on April 30th.
After six weeks closure, glacier summer skiing will be available at Les 2 Alpes from June 14th, at Tignes from June 21st and at Val d'Isere from June 28th
In the meantime it is possible to ski indoors on snow at Amneville in the North East of the country on a 400m slope ( or on one of the world's biggest artificial surface slopes at Noeux-Les-Mines near Calais.
