Strange creatures from outer space have materialised all over the slopes and are the latest creations by snow sculptors from all over Europe in the Tirolean resort's 16th annual Shapes in White exhibition.
This year's theme is Aliens and the ingenuity and stunning technical brilliance of the sculptors is on show for skiers and boarders to marvel at until the Spring thaw sends the creatures from outer space back home - so that won't be until the beginning of May as Ischgl enjoys guaranteed snow right till then.
The artists had just five days to hammer and carve their allocated piles of snow into works of art, which include the mystified Futurama spaceman trying to get his bearings without the aid of a piste map - the work of Yorkshire-based sculpting brothers Justin and Simon Scott.
Justin, aged 37, a gardener from Driffield in East Riding, and Simon, 35, a salesman from Home Firth in West Yorkshire, are regular participants in the exhibition.
