"It's still full on winter here in Lake Louise and we are staying open another week we are also allowing any other North American season pass to ski here for free!" said Sandy Best, Lake Louise Ski Area's director of public relations and hotels.
"We've had an epic snow year at Lake Louise and conditions were just too good to shut down on our scheduled date of May 1," confirmed Lake Louise Marketing Director John Ross. "To help celebrate this year's excellent conditions, we're staying open an extra week and inviting die-hard skiers and riders from across North American to come out for one more week of great skiing in the Rocky Mountains. We're very proud of Lake Louise's conditions and are happy to show it off during our bonus week."
Sandy Best is also promoting The Great Divide Lodge a property that used to be staff accommodations for those lucky enough to be working at Lake Louise Ski Area-only a 10 min drive up the highway-but now a comfortable and affordable base camp for those chasing the POW.
But the first thing they did just before opening the lodge back up for the public was to make it a whole lot more accommodating. This includes hard wood floors, a new comfy pub-The Kicking Horse Lounge-and a chef who can not only put out tasty food, but also at a price that leaves lots in the bank account for those après options on the mountain.
"It's our goal to bring back affordable skiing," said Sandy.
The Lodge can be booked in a package that includes a lift ticket and a room for pretty much the same price as a lift ticket alone.
