The Burton European Open is now scheduled from Feb. 25th - March 3rd, 2012.

"Burton and LAAX are committed to providing a very high standard of Slopestyle and Halfpipe snowboarding events. The temperatures at the moment do not allow preparation of a park set-up in time that meets the expectations of organizers and riders. For this reason postponement of the event has been confirmed." Said a statement from Burton.

The news comes after Davos decided to postpone its opening - scheduled for this Friday 18th, by a week to November 25th; and news that Andermatt has also delayed opening.

Earlier this month the FIS cancelled races planned for Levi in Finland later this month due to warm conditions there. However another Finnish resort Ruka, which had planned to open on October 15, will now open on November 16th as there is finally cold enough weather for adequate snowmaking there,

"Most of the Saarua 13 slope has been covered with snow and it will be open on Wednesday 16th November at 9.30am." said a resort statement.
