All ski areas in Ohio were closed as of New Years Day, and one, Clear Fork, has called it quits for the 2006/07 season. Ski areas in Indiana, except for Perfect North, are temporarily closed. Ski areas in Wisconsin and Minnesota have fared much better with colder weather and more snow than rain from those storms that have moved through the Midwest in the last couple of weeks. Most are open with as much as 80-percent of their terrain ready to go, a few less, but snowmaking opportunities have been more abundant on the west side of Lake Michigan. The best bet is to call ahead or check OnTheSnow snow reports for the latest slope conditions.
