Parisien Has Advice For Young Ski Racers
Three-time Olympian and four-time National Champion Julie Parisien had some good advice for young ski racers at Boyne Highlands' third annual Fall Ski Racing Summit.
"You have to be mentally ready as well as physically ready. Tough body, tough mind," she told the racers and also advised them to not be afraid to lose or try new things. "Don't be afraid to tweak your equipment or try a new line on a course. If you lose, you learn something from that and take it with you. It makes you a better competitor in the long run. You have to learn to be adaptable. No other sport has the changes that can occur like ski racing. Conditions can change while you are on course, and you have to be ready to adapt."
