Sunshine Opens Eight Lifts
Sunshine beat out other Canadian Rockies resorts in the amount of terrain they opened on their first day of operation on Thursday, Nov. 15. Eight lifts ran for opening day —the high-speed Gondola, Mount Standish Express, Strawberry Triple, Wawa Quad, Jackrabbit Quad, Wolverine Express Quad, and two magic carpets. "We're thrilled to open with excellent early season conditions," said Sunshine's Mike Moynihan. "It marks the beginning of what promises to be another great season here at Sunshine Village."
The resort opened 55 out of 107 runs. Skiers must download via the Gondola as the ski-out is still closed. Extreme areas like Delirium Dive and Wildwest are also closed. Groomed runs included Dell Valley, Rock Isle Road, upper Banff Avenue, and Kid's Play.
