The town of [R77R, Breckenridge] has paid homage to the great god of the ski and snowboard season since 1963. Ullr, the Norse god of snow (and rocking parties) is once again dusting off his Viking horns to appreciate the locals' revelry. He rewards the 150-year-old town with nearly 300 inches of powder nearly every year. Ullr Fest, Breck's ultimate winter festival, takes place this Jan. 4-9.

Those horned Viking hats will adorn the heads of skiers and snowboarders, Ullympic competitors will fling frying pans for prizes, and more than 12,000 Ullr enthusiasts fill the streets for the Ullr Parade where participants ski off jumps on Main Street or glide along town in a hot tub.
