Big time snow for the upper Midwest, action fires up again in the Northeast and parts of the Rockies welcome more of the white stuff. RC

The action I talked about yesterday for the region rolls on today with even colder temps and lake effect snow warnings posted for the Northern, Northwest Lower and UP portions of Michigan, which could see more than a foot of powder. Highs for the day mid teens to mid 20's.

The break for the Northeast looks to be over with an incoming cold front that brings rain and then snow to the region. Look for the snow to arrive late this evening with a lake effect snow watch posted for areas around Lake Erie and Lake Ontario. Highs mid 30's to mid 40's with a big cool down in the forecast for Friday.

The action that brought snow to Montana and Idaho moves into Wyoming and Colorado today. Northeast Colorado and the eastern slopes of the Rockies should get a nice dump from this system and it looks like cool temps are going to stick around. Fog continues to be in the mix for parts of Oregon and Northern California. Highs from the single digits to the mid 20's in the mountains.
