Smoke, Mirrors And Magic
While ski areas further north in Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio struggle to open with many remaining closed, Snow Creek has been humming along. According to Joan Falk, in the business office, GM Dave Greiner and his snowmaking crew are out there every chance they get.
"If we can put down three flakes of snow, that's what we're doing; every chance we get," said Falk. Out of six ski areas owned by Peak Resorts across the Midwest – the five others being further north – the Creek is the only one open at this time. Call it spirit and determination, but they aren't going to let Mother Nature spoil their season.
