Austrian Displays Shortcomings
On his Web site (www.rainer.schoenfelder.at) Schoenfelder explained the stunt was the result of a "bet" with his physiotherapist whom he had promised he would ski naked if pain from a training fall injury had eased ahead of the race. Clearly they did. Along with his skis and boots however Schoenfelder did keep his race helmet and goggles on to avoid any further injury.
