[R350R, Schweitzer Resort]'s first annual Fear Fest creeps its way into The Attic of the Selkirk Lodge for a one-of-a-kind haunted ski area experience.

Dare to enter The Attic and you'll be greeted by a nightmarish experience that will leave you unsettled for days. Guaranteed to leave you screaming, The Attic converts to a Halloween haunt Friday, Oct. 31 and Saturday, Nov. 1, 6 - 9 p.m.

Guests of Schweitzer's Selkirk Lodge long have reported strange sounds emanating from the floors above them. Footsteps, muffled screams, crying - all unexplained - until now.

Many in the region have heard of the Hermit, a Swiss fur trapper that occupied the basin now home to the ski resort back in the early 1800s. Referring to himself as "Schweitzer" - which literally means "Swiss Man", the locals knew very little about this recluse.  Seemingly mild mannered to most, it seems that stalking and trapping animals was insignificant compared to the true terror lurking beneath the surface.

The Hermit was a descendant of an ancient group known simply as "The Gatherers," a group of the undead dedicated to the collection of humans for sacrifice to the spirits lurking around every dark shadow. The Hermit began a new chapter when he came to America, one whose tracks were covered by his henchmen recruited along the way. Plagues, war, famine, mass murder, and other covers were used to account for those in the region that simply disappeared at the hands of "The Gatherers."

So while most locals believe The Hermit to have vanished over 150 years ago, the truth is that he never left. He and his group of disciples have continued to recruit for their evil cause over the years, and have chosen to use The Attic as their gathering spot. Here they continue to plot their heinous acts... Emboldened by ever increasing numbers, they've now set their sights on guests at the Selkirk Lodge. Endlessly gathering, gathering....gathering.
