The joint [R436R, Sugarloaf]/[R443R, Sunday River] Early Savings deal applies to ski and stay packages of two nights or longer throughout the 2008-09 ski season.

While the resorts have historically offered specific discounted early season packages, the Early Savings program allows guests more flexibility.

Again, the deal is book by Nov. 15 and save $75, or by Dec. 15 and save $50.

With travel costs continuing to rise, Sugarloaf and Sunday River anticipate many guests will be staying closer to home for their ski vacations this season.

Some resort operators expect travel costs will result in longer resort stays as well.

Both resorts have seen substantial capital investments during the off-season. Sugarloaf has invested more than $5 million towards enhanced snowmaking capacity, new terrain parks, and upgrades to on-mountain facilities, while Sunday River has seen nearly $14 million in investment, including the installation of the first Chondola in the Northeastern United States.

"The high price of airline travel has a lot of people rethinking Western vacations this year," Jim Costello, Director of Sales and Marketing for Sugarloaf and Sunday River, said. "And this program offers people the opportunity to save a lot of money, and still get that big mountain experience closer to home."

More information on the Early Savings program is available at the Sugarloaf and Sunday River Web sites.
