Cerro Catedral is celebrating its 70th season, which began in 1938. Cerro Catedral is one of the largest ski resorts in South America, with its modernization plan nearly complete. It now boasts 40 lifts, 600 skiable hectares, and 20 restaurants on the hill and the base. One not-to-miss event is the Reef Boardercross the weekend of Aug. 9. The competition is followed by the infamous after party and bikini pageant Saturday night that goes until 6 a.m.
