Skating For A Cause
The people at Boarding for Breast Cancer, a nonprofit, youth-focused education, awareness, and fund raising foundation for and about breast cancer, are putting on their third annual Skate the Lake event Sept. 28-29. The fun kicks off Friday evening with a registration party at Blue Coyote Sports Grill in Squaw Valley, and gets into gear Saturday with a 27-mile relay race along the shores of Lake Tahoe. Athletes of all ages and skill levels can either skate a 2-mile portion of the event or the whole thing. Entry fee is $20 per participant, with proceeds benefiting B4BC's fine work; registration forms are available at skatethelake.org.
