Take a Gamble on Las Vegas
The ski hill has four lifts, including two double chairs and a triple, servicing 11 trails and a variety of tree skiing and riding over an 860-foot vertical drop; there's also a terrain park with the fine moniker of "Darkside". Although the operation's motto is "Real snow, real close," Las Vegas Ski and Snowboard Resort has snowmaking guns covering 75 percent of its cut runs. Amenities include a café, a bar, a sports and rental shop. Although there is no overnight lodging slopeside, who needs it when all the glitz and glamour – and a surfeit of hotels – of Las Vegas is less than an hour away.
