Banff And Jasper Resorts See Snow

Resorts in this article: Marmot Basin, Lake Louise, Sunshine Village
Resorts in Alberta's Banff and Jasper National Parks are celebrating the onset of winter. Good thing, too, since they target early November dates for opening. Several inches of snow cover the tops of the peaks at Lake Louise Resort, Sunshine Village, and Marmot Basin, sending lingering summer tourists scuttling for cover and heralding the upcoming ski season.
Sunshine Village and Lake Louise vie for who can open the earliest. Sunshine has slated Thursday, Nov. 8 as its opening day. Lake Louise is aiming for Friday, Nov. 9, just in time to prepare for the World Cup. Marmot Basin intends to open in late November.
