Nakiska Opens With Improvement
Nakiska opened to the public Saturday, Dec. 8 after hosting a month of pre-season training for international ski teams. Skiers and riders found wider runs and a new speed training track on Map Maker. More snowmaking extended the coverage from 10 new fan guns and 65 new towers.
The resort also upgraded its beginner area with a 350-foot Magic Carpet and expanded terrain. The base lodge got a facelift inside while the mid-mountain lodge has received a complete renovation inside and out.
