Buried at Sunday River
With about three feet of snow falling from Wednesday morning to Thursday morning even 20 and 30 year employees had difficulty remembering a larger 24 hour event according to Sunday River Communications Director Alex Kaufman. Just in time for the President's Week vacation period the timing of the storm could not have been better. More than 100 trails covering all eight peaks at the resort are open with the best conditions of the season.
Along with the great conditions Sunday River is serving up a full slate of activities for the holiday week. The 5th Annual Maine Telemark Festival on Saturday the 24th will include demos, lessons, competitions and a costume contest. A great chance to try out something new. The same day the Suzuki Half Pipe Jam pits skiers and riders in a jam format for a chance at the $2000 cash prize. And on Sunday the 25th kids and teens ages 6-18 pay their age to ski or ride for the day.
