Awesome Snow Unbreaks Our NY Hearts

Resorts in this article: Belleayre, Hunter Mountain, Windham Mountain
New York's ski areas landed anywhere from one foot to three feet of snow in last week's blizzard, making for the best riding of the season, excellent conditions that are going to last into early March.
Perfect conditions for Whiteface Mountain to host the 27th Empire State Games Friday through Tuesday. Did you say Windham Mountain? Why, sure, check out the SwitchWindham.com Big Air contest, open to all, on Saturday. Sign in 8 a.m. until 10 a.m., practice at 11 a.m., then bust it at noon.
Meantime, Hunter Mountain this weekend hosts a USSA Freestyle B Meet, Saturday and Sunday. Over there in the western part of the state, Peek'n Peak hosts a Mountain Dew Slide & Ride Day on Saturday.
Back to the Catskills, and Belleayre Mountain, which is mightily busy this weekend. How about the United States of America Snowboard Association-sanctioned giant slalom slopestyle race on Saturday.
'Nuff said.
