New Trails Open At Snowshoe
Snowshoe resort opened the first of its three new trails Dec. 21. The trail, Sawmill, is for expert skiers and boarders. It is 2,790-feet long and has a vertical drop of more than 600 feet. The trail is accessible by the Soaring Eagle lift.
"This is the most significant addition of expert terrain in at least five years at the resort, and it marks a clear improvement in the skiing experience at Snowshoe," said Bill Rock, Snowshoe Mountain president.
Sawmill is one of three new trails that were added to the South Mountain area this summer. Sawmill Glades and Camp 99, the two additional trails, will open as weather and snowmaking allow.
