Join the U.S. Ski Team in the Ski for Gold High Performance Clinic March 28 at Deer Valley. The program uses the actual staff, training, and analysis techniques they use with the country's top skiers. The experience starts out with a full race tune then workout with the pros. Two of the team's elite-level skiers ski against each of the participants on course while they videotape the action. Ski team coaches will compare the professional skiers against the participants at lunchtime, using computer technology and will break down how participants can improve their skiing. You'll put those tips to task in the afternoon with guided help. Ski Team's Alpine Program Director Jesse Hunt, Finn Gunderson, director of coaches' education, and Per Lundstam, manager of the training center strength, video and technology, will lead the clinic. Participants must be advanced skiers and have some serious cash as the fee for the day is $5,000. On the bright side, $4,500 is tax deductible and the full amount benefits the USSA athlete programs. The day includes a light breakfast, lunch, après ski, a lift ticket, the clinic, a full ski tune and a gift bag. Participants must turn in their skis 48 hours prior to the event to receive a full race tune. Skis should be high performance skis, not powder boards. You'll also walk away with the team's instructional training CDs, a CD of your side-by-side skiing comparison to a U.S. Ski Team athlete. For more information, visit
