Jiminy Creek: Blade Runner
It will be white and green this winter at Jiminy Peak. That's a good thing.
The three-year project to build and operate the 1.5-megawatt GE wind turbine -- taller than the Statue of Liberty -- is complete. With the flip of a switch, Jiminy is the first resort in North America to make its own power.
That will drop JP's energy costs this season by nearly 50 percent said Jiminy's Brian Fairbank, president and CEO.
The project cost $3.9 million.
