New Snow in Switzerland
At Verbier 20cm (eight inches) of snow on the lower slopes and 50cm (20 inches) on the higher slopes has more than doubled snow depths, particularly welcome down at valley level where depths are now 25cm (10 inches). Ironically high winds closed all but six lifts yesterday (Tuesday), however a clear day of perfect powder is expected today (Wednesday) before more fresh snow arrives on Thursday – a situation likely to be reflected across Switzerland.
The new snow has come a little late for some events however the 24 Heures Freeride Dominique Perret has been postponed to January 27th and 28th.
