Satisfy Your Base Instincts
Vice President of Mountain Operations, Jay Roberts, reported to wintergreenresort.com that, "The time we spent building our snowbase was well spent. Guests continue to compliment us on the quantity and quality of the snow on all of our trails...It's great to see so many enjoying great conditions along with the great weather."
Based on this favorable assessment, the mountain plans to stay open until March 25 if not later, which leaves at least 18 days to get in as many turns as possible. To add a little incentive, Wintergreen is offering a $99 pass to skiers and snowboarders good for the rest of the season.
Also this weekend, the Virginia resort will be holding their Winter Carnival on Saturday March, 10. The event includes music, food and a plethora of activities kicking off at 10 a.m. with a racing competition on Upper Dubie.
While you're enjoying the 12 foot base, keep your eyes peeled for colored Easter eggs hidden across the mountain. Two hundred have been planted and their discovery will enter you into a raffle taking place on the Blue Ridge Terrace at 3 p.m.
Even better than the Easter eggs are golden eggs, also dispersed throughout the slopes, which offer the opportunity to step into the mountain's money machine for a chance to win $500.
