Swiss snow accommodation operator, Igloo Village, has a number of new initiatives as well as new locations this winter. Those who do not wish to forgo a cozy night with the crackling sound of a wood stove and are not entirely ready to spend a night in a real snow igloo can now book an overnight stay in a heated "snow room" in Gstaad and Engelberg. The so-called Igloo Pod looks like an igloo, but it has an artificial shell or "pod", explains a fellow named Adrian. "This little heatable house with a window is warm and comforting and is perfectly suited to guests who are sensitive to the cold." This is an absolute luxury in nearly untouched nature. The 11th Igloo Village season begins Dec. Get more details as www.iglu-dorf.com
