Targhee Thanks Long-Time Exec
Larry Williamson is stepping away from the GM position he has held since 1976. F. Scott Pierpont, his successor, hails from The Canyons in Utah, where he served as president and managing director.
Williamson started at Targhee as a part-time ski instructor in 1972. He is most noted for securing a land swap with the U.S. Forest Service that garnered Targhee private land at the resort's base. He also promoted local ski racing, school programs that introduced children to skiing, and the Idaho Special Olympic Games.
"An era has ended; we're all going to miss Larry very much," responds resort spokesperson Susie Barnett-Bushong.
