Experience A Taste of Winter In Sacramento
The Sacramento Ski and Snowboard Show, the Central Valley's largest preseason snowsport gathering, will descend on the state capitol Nov. 17-18 at the California Exposition Center. Besides the usual booths and exhibits featuring the latest gear from manufacturers and the latest poop from ski and snowboard resorts, the show will feature tire-chain installation contest, a teaching ramp, and a climbing wall. There will be plenty of giveaways, including the grand prize: an Alaska heli-ski trip. Show hours are 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $15 for adults (who also will receive a mid-week lift-ticket voucher for Northstar or Sierra-at-Tahoe), $3 for kids 6-12, and free for children under 6. Complete details can be found at sacsnow.com/sacraento.
