Fighting Cancer At Mt. Hood Meadows
The Oregon Cancer Ski Out, which for the past two decades has raised funds for the likes of the Oregon Health and Science University's Cancer Institute, the Willamette Falls Hospice, and other cancer awareness and advocacy groups, will celebrate its 20th anniversary at Mt. Hood Meadows March 2. Among the fund raising activities are the five-member team races ($1,000 per team entry fee gets you race entry, two-day/night lift passes, meals, evening gala, and other swag; better be quick, though, the deadline is Feb. 15); the Cowboy Up Cancer Party (includes buffet dinner and dance); a spontaneous auction; and the Bucks to Buck Cancer (people are asked to get five friends/neighbors/family members to each donate $25 for the cause). Information and entry forms can be found at cancerskiout.org.
