Mail Call! Snow News From Home...
Mail from home can be a good thing at any time for a soldier abroad. Something as simple as a snow report from his favorite mountain can mean a lot.
Here's a note from a soldier serving in a place with no snow and few mountains, and who is obviously thinking about both:
Mr. James Quimby,
Attached are a couple of photos of MSgt Scott James holding the Saddleback Mountain Ski report from 19 December 2006 while serving in Southern Iraq at Ali Air Base. I would like to extend my warmest thanks to you and the mountain management for your support of the troops and your fellow New Englanders. Even if you Maine folk call us Rhode Islanders "Flat Landers". :)
Play hard, stay safe and know that we are holding the line. Merry Christmas and Happy New year!
Very Respectfully, Thank you, Scott James
