Andorra Makes Snow
The largest resort, Grandvalira, which recently became one of the world's ten leading ski areas in terms of hourly uplift when its capacity passed 100,000 skiers per hour has around 70% of its lifts operating, but only 40% of terrain.
Most of the open terrain is rated very easy or easy, with most intermediate and steep terrain currently closed. Black runs that are open include the Aligha black in the El Tarter sector, the Mirador run in Grau Roig and the FIS run at Pas de la Casa. The Avet black run at Soldeu is partly open.
At Andorra's other resort, Vallnord, which includes Arinsal and Pal, about half of the runs are open with snow depths of 20 to 30cm (eight to twelve inches).
