The outdoor ice rink in [R630R, Davos] opened Dec. 11. This timely start to the skating season was made possible by the early snowfall and plummeting temperatures.

With an area of 18000 square metres, it is the largest of its kind in Europe. The rink is now open for ice skating and ice hockey daily between 10 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. and to speed skaters from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All other types of skating are possible from 19:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays.

The ice rink will be open in the evenings during the Christmas and New Year period: Dec. 26-30 and Jan. 1-3. Evening admission is free. Normal opening times will be resumed Jan. 4.

Davos hosts numerous events on ice throughout the winter season. Highlights include the KHL Ice Hockey Championship Match Dec. 23, the 84th Spengler Cup Dec. 26-31, and the 8th Ice Gala Davos Feb. 11-12, which features the world's best figure skaters.

The Davos-[R633R, Klosters] ski area is amongst the biggest snow sport regions in the Alps, with its five mountains featuring 300 kilometres of slopes divided into 85 descents.There is something for all winter sport enthusiasts: carver, freerider, snowboarders, and beginners.
