[R82R, Brighton Resort] knows that women are busier than ever these days -- and that they rarely have more than one day for the intense instruction on the slopes they want.
So the Big Cottonwood Canyon ski area has set up four, single-day ski or snowboard camps for the woman whose life is already jam-packed but wants to get better quickly on the slopes.
The new six-hour sessions, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., run on the first Tuesday of each month, beginning Dec. 7. Other classes are on Jan. 4, Feb. 1, and March 1.
Each session costs $95, and all participants must be at least 18 years of age.
The women's camp is one of the workshops offered at Brighton; adult, senior, and telemarking sessions also are on the agenda this winter.
Brighton has six high-speed chairlifts that serve all of the area's 1,050-acre skiable terrain. Two hundred of those acres have lighting for night skiing and snowboarding until 9 p.m. Children under 8 get on the mountain for free all season long.
Public buses run regularly from downtown Salt Lake City and numerous park ‘n' ride locations in and around the city.
